SIID – Business R&D - Individual Operations – Other territories

This notice supports Research and Development (R&D) operations, in individual mode, carried out by a company, aligned with the priority domains of the Research and Innovation Strategy for Intelligent Specialization (RIS3), which comprise investments in industrial research and development activities experimental, stimulating its economic valorization and the promotion of innovation.
Actions covered by this notice:
Operations that integrate industrial research and experimental development activities, leading to the creation of new products, processes or services or the introduction of significant improvements to existing products, processes or services, are eligible for support.
Geographic area covered
This notice applies to the NUTS II regions of the Continent (North, Center, Lisbon, Alentejo and Algarve), outside the low density territories defined by CIC Portugal 2020 (Low Density Territories)
The location of the project corresponds to the region where the investment is located.
Co-Financing Fees
The maximum financing rate for eligible operations is that established in accordance with the provisions of article 49 of the REITD, with regard to the type of Business R&D operation - "RD&T Projects", with the exception of investments in NUTS II LISBOA, in that the maximum rate is 40%.
For companies:
Basic Rate:
• Up to 50% for industrial research;
• Up to 25% for experimental development.
Increases:
A. “Company size”: up to 10 p.p. to be allocated to medium-sized companies or 20 p.p. to be attributed to micro and small companies;
B. “Effective Collaboration” and “Broad Dissemination of Results”: up to 15 p.p. to be awarded when the operation meets the conditions set out in paragraph b) of paragraph 2 of article 49;
C. “Location of operation”: up to 15 p.p. to be attributed to operations located in the North, Center or Alentejo regions and up to 5 p.p.
Increases B and C are not cumulative.
The basic rates plus increases have a maximum intensity of 80%
